Di Yang (b.1990), China ,Suzhou
His artistic practice is often based on video and installation. Based on narrative material from popular culture, novels and films, he explores the effects of power on people and imagines the crisis of future life. His creations are closely related to the spiritual dilemmas brought about by technology. He believes in the failure of today’s “experience”and envisons to explore how to redefine human identity in a society in flux.
His works have been exhibited in many museums and institutions such asK21 Museum Düsseldorf, Kunsthalle Düsseldorf, Germany, MAXXI - National Museum of 21st Century Art, Rom, Huayu Youth Prize ,China, Xihai Museum of Art, Duolun Museum of Art, Shanghai, and Chengdu Contemporary Image Museum, etc. He has also received commissions from the 798cube Museum Beijing, and the Bloom Art Space, Düsseldorf, in the year of 2023. He has also worked as a curator, curating the China -German video exhibition "Travelling in the Absence of the Body" at the Duolun Museum of Art in Shanghai （2024） .
