Guangye’s artistic creations often spring from sudden flashes of inspiration—a passerby’s glance over their shoulder, a silhouette in the rain, or an inner feeling. These moments aren’t necessarily premeditated; he believes that would lack sincerity, for emotion is inherently irrational. Observation gives way to creation. This process is spontaneous, driven by his innermost impulses—much like encountering someone who captivates him. Eyes meet, hearts race, and every subsequent action becomes an expression of devotion, free from external constraints.
“The body is often viewed as a monster by human-imposed ethics. The same thing takes on different meanings when described from different angles. Yet the essence of the object remains unchanged. Subjective definitions limit our understanding of this comprehensive world. I happen to have been placed by God in a viewpoint no one else wants to occupy. Over time, this primal impulse has slowly transformed into a contemplation of desire and scars.”
He has held multiple solo exhibitions: 2016 Beijing Art Des “Male Pupils” solo exhibition, 2018 Beijing The Rabbit Bar “Body. Sex” solo exhibition, 2022 Beijing Acquired Taste “Vitality” solo exhibition at a certain garden in Beijing’s MixC Mall. His works are held in collections by institutions and private collectors across the UK, USA, Germany, Spain, France, Canada, Austria, Hungary, and other countries.
